The Marin County Board of Supervisors took a major step forward Tuesday in pursuit of the county’s ambitious “Marin Clean Energy” Community Choice Aggregation plan at a regularly scheduled board meeting at the Marin County Civic Center.
As part of the larger effort to allow cities to collectively buy “green” energy by negotiating independent contracts with power-suppliers, the board unanimously authorized the creation of a joint powers authority through which cities can coordinate. The next step for Marin Clean Energy will be for member cities’ councils to vote for the JPA to pursue energy contracts for review.
