 MARIN IJ STILL PUSHING PG&E VOTE MESSAGE 

Dick Spotswood, IJ Columnist, thinks Marin Clean Energy needs a binding public vote-but this time, initiated and funded by the individual cities and towns of the county, and taking place in November of 2009. The goalposts seem to be moving further into the future.

Marin Independent Journal Editors have published another in their series of PG&E friendly editorials, critical of the pioneering Marin Clean Energy Initiative, now moving ahead following affirmative votes by the county Supervisors, and several of Marin's towns and cities last week, establishing the Marin Energy Authority.

Paul Jones, of the Novato Advance, got this story on the Marin County Board of Supervisors unanimous vote to form the Marin Energy Authority out quickly, following last Tuesday's meeting. It's one of several publshed around the Bay Area.

PG&E ACTING TRUE TO FORM ON MARIN CLEAN ENERGY

Late Friday afternoon (November 14, 2008), PG&E met with the Independent Journal's Editorial Board, and slipped them a "preliminary" look at their Anti-CCA proposal, which is to be presented in full to the Marin County Board of Supervisors early Tuesday morning, November 18, 2008. We understand that the document was forwarded late Friday to county officials from the IJ, since PG&E apparently "overlooked" the county's address.

PG&E MAY PROPOSE GREEN ELECTRONS PILOT PROGRAM TO MARIN

Brad Breithaupt, Independent Journal Staff Writer, reported on September 12, 2008 that PG&E will be pitching a plan to Marin governments to provided 100% "green" electrons to Marin County- as a Pilot Program. We'll be following this story very closely, particularly because it could put years of work on Marin Clean Energy, so full of promise for locally generated renewable power, in jeopardy.
